PORN CUT OUTS
I lived with a guy who loved making abject collages with porn, much like this but without the post-feminist/ post colonialist conceptually driven subtext. So I became interested in the discarded backgrounds, once the subject was removed. What was left behind were banal and often tacky, but mostly benign interior domestic spaces. Almost like the scene of a crime. This series is still in process.

EID MA CRACK SHAW

I found this love letter many years ago in a thrift store. The rest of the documents in the file in which I found it were dated 1942.
I've always been seduced by this letter that was not sent to its intended recipient Leilanie.
'Eid Ma Crack Shaw' is a song by Bill Callahan, from the album 'Sometimes I wish I were and Eagle'. It is one of my favourite songs at the moment. I find it evocative, melancholic and I think its genius. And also relevant to me these days and the author of this letter.
